If you want to stay local...

There is plenty of wildlife on site, especially around our tranquil lake and it's a perfect spot for bird watching. If you're feeling active, bring your bike and ride the ruby country with beautiful scenery and pubs along the way. There are plenty of eateries and supermarkets in the local town.

You can visit the local farmers market, go swimming, or try something new at The Pottery Box.

A few miles away,  Garlands farm offer riding lessons for all ages and Dunsdon nature reserve is great for dog walks, which has a spotting platform for wildlife and flowers.

Or you could try Dragon Archery or a visit to Blackberry Farm Shop and Tearoom.

I do love to be beside the seaside....

A little further (15 mins drive or bus) in the seaside town of Bude, there are many restaurants, bars and unique, independent shops. The castle is very interesting with great views in the cafe. By the beach there are countless watersports or try some surfing lessons. Bude also has the most amazing sea pool that is quite popular where you can also hire a beach hut for the day. Further afield there is the Eden project or RHS Garden Rosemoor which are both well worth a visit, if you're looking for kids days out then The Milky Way Adventure Park is only 30 minutes away or The Big Sheep is great for family fun.
